Commercial Lighting Warranty

Combination Lamp and Generator Fixture System Limited Warranty

Modern Energy Concepts ("MEC") lamps and generators installed on MEC fixtures are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship and to operate from the date of shipment as indicated by the date stamped on the product (or product label) or by the invoice date when stamping is impractical, for the time periods and subject to the Terms and Conditions specified below. If lamps fail to operate for the warranty period, MEC will provide a free replacement lamp at our discretion (but no labor allowance). If an a generator fails to operate within the warranty period, MEC will provide a free replacement generator at our expense.

1. Warranty Period allows up to 8760 hrs per year.
2. Maximum Case Temperature <70 deg C, for normal environmental operating conditions (40 deg C max. ambient) unless noted.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
MEC lamps, generators, and fixtures must be installed together as a system and be installed and operated under suitable environmental conditions and in accordance with the latest National Electrical Code, Underwriters Laboratory Bulletins, and ANSI Specifications. This warranty will not apply in the event of conditions demonstrating abnormal use or stress, such as operating temperatures in excess of maximum rated temperatures, under/over voltage conditions, excessive switching cycles, or operating hours, dirty or cracked sockets, or improper lamp or generator installation. Replacement of MEC lamps and/ or generators with lamps and/ or generators of other manufacturers will void the lamp and/or generator portion of this warranty. This warranty does not cover acts of nature such as lightning damage, or corrosion and discoloration of components, nor does it cover damages caused through abuse, improper installation, surges in electric current, or acts of third parties.

WARRANTY ACTIVATION / SERVICE CLAIMS
The MEC Induction warranty is automatically activated after MEC receives a completed warranty registration form within 30 days after installation. An acknowledgment will be sent for each registration along with a reference number for future correspondence. Service claims can be made by contacting 866.391.2297 to initiate the process for problem resolution.

LABOR OPTIONS
No labor allowance is made for any lamp replacement or Generator except during the warranty period. MEC provides for several labor options for service under the MEC Induction warranty program.
  1. MEC will contact a service provider and coordinate replacement at no cost to the user of the generator, or
  2. MEC will reimburse the purchaser reasonable, customary and necessary labor charges required to install the generator replacement.
  3. Labor options must be pre-approved by MEC. Any labor option or cost that is not pre-approved will not be eligible for reimbursement.
RETURN OF DEFECTIVE PRODUCT
For warranty returns, the original direct purchaser should contact MEC Customer Service by calling 866.391.2297 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM pacific standard time (USA). MEC may elect to inspect the product on the customer's premises, or issue an RM number so that the product may be returned to the factory for testing. RM numbers will only be issued to MEC direct customers.

The following information is required to obtain a RM number:

  • Company name and address and contact person.
  • MEC part number, date code, quantity and description of the problem.

All product warranty returns, repairs, replacements or credits are handled between MEC and the direct purchaser. Attach a brief written description of the problem to the product or packing list along with the RM number that was issued. Return the product, freight prepaid, to:

REPLACEMENT OF PRODUCT, LIMITS OF LIABILITY
If there is a defect in material or workmanship, the product will be (at MEC's discretion) repaired, re-tested and returned; replaced; or a credit may be issued. Repaired or replaced products will be returned at no charge, freight prepaid by MEC. Credit will not be issued or a replacement product provided if the failure is not caused by a defect in material or workmanship. Unrepairable products will be scrapped. The foregoing shall constitute the sole and exclusive remedy of the purchaser and the sole and exclusive liability of MEC. NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS MADE OR IS TO BE IMPLIED. MEC will not, under any circumstance, whether as a result of breach of contract or warranty, tort, or otherwise, be liable for any incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits or revenues or any other costs or damages. MEC reserves the right to examine all failed lamps and/or generators and reserves the right to be the sole judge as to whether any lamps and/or generators are defective and covered under this warranty.
